Keith Boanas has assisted in the development of many senior England women internationals such as former captain Casey Stoney and Eniola Aluko, who have also played professionally in the USA, as well as his wife Pauline Cope (Boanas) Hall of Fame member, and current record appearance holder Fara Williams. Keith also tutored former England Women’s National Team assistant coach, Marianne Spacey and Matt Beard, head coach of Liverpool ladies, who were back to back Women’s Super League champions – recently moved to Boston Breakers in the US NWSL.
Keith has also tutored many figures from the men’s game. Notable examples include Chris Powell – former head coach at Charlton Athletic and former PFA president; Dean Kiely – Premier league goalkeeper and now goalkeeping coach at Norwich City. Plus Sean Dyche head coach at English Premier League (EPL) team, Burnley FC, former EPL players Leroy Lita and Jason Euell, all of whom are still involved in playing or coaching in the English leagues.
Overall, during his time with Charlton Athletic LFC, Keith helped develop approximately 24 senior & youth internationals in the women’s game. He has had three specialised ‘Fun Game’ manuals for grassroots youth development published and was also head-hunted for the position of Assistant Academy Director at the well-known David Beckham Academy in London. This was a position which he held for three years.
